Thousands of students will gain security qualifications in time for London 2012 thanks to an education initiative developed by the security industry, the Government, Buckinghamshire New University and North Hertfordshire College. The programme, entitled Bridging The Gap, is still looking for more further education colleges to take part. St Mary’s University College to host South African training camps
St Mary’s University College in Twickenham will host Pre-Games Training Camps for the South Africa Olympic squad - making it the first Institution in the capital to confirm such a deal. To find out more click here. Colleges and universities’ contribution to Beijing 2008 studied

There are currently many different events, opportunities and competitions listed on the Podium website, including: The HLST Student Competition task for 2009-10. Students are being invited to design a new symbol and a one line slogan which represents the meaning of the Games for young people today. A series of three Legacy Now Public Lectures running in London during November discussing different aspects of the Games' legacy. The London 2012 Deloitte Business Competition which is giving university students across the UK the chance to win a trip to the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
